43~ sangeet

AUTHOR'S POV

The Sangeet night was filled with excitement and anticipation. The elders were busy overseeing the preparations, while the younger cousins, including Rida and Ahan, were rehearsing their dance performances. The atmosphere was lively, with music and laughter filling the air.

However, amidst all the joy and enthusiasm, Saarah stood out as a picture of discontent. She was marrying Rehan solely for her Dadi's sake, and her heart wasn't in it. As the evening drew to a close, she got ready for the Sangeet night, donning a stunning pink heavy dress that showcased her beauty.

Despite her outer radiance, Saarah's eyes betrayed her inner unhappiness. They seemed distant, lost in thought, as if her mind was elsewhere. The dress was breathtaking, but it couldn't mask the emptiness that seemed to have taken up residence in her heart. She was a vision of loveliness, yet her beauty was tinged with sadness, a poignant reminder that not everything was as perfect as it seemed.

As the Sangeet night began, the elders took to the stage, singing traditional songs and geets. Just as the festivities were underway,

Zain's family arrived, and Saarah's parents went to greet them. Zoya, however, made a beeline for Saarah, exclaiming,

"Mashallah, Aapi, you look stunning!" as she playfully removed an imaginary evil eye from Saarah's face.

Saarah smiled and reciprocated, "You look lovely too, Zoya." The two friends shared a warm hug, but their moment was soon interrupted by a throat-clearing voice. They turned to find Zain and Ahan standing behind them, their eyes fixed on the pair.

The air was charged with tension as Zain and Saarah locked eyes, before shifting their gaze to their siblings.

 Saarah quickly grabbed Ahan's ear,

while Zain grabbed Zoya's ear.

"Ouch! Ahh!" both Ahan and Zoya hissed in pain, looking up at their elder sister and brother for help.

"Could you mind telling us what that was about?" Zain asked, his voice laced with amusement.

Saarah twisted Ahan's ear further, prompting him to squeal. "You never told us why you did that, did you, kutte?" she said, referring to the incident involving Zoya.

Zain chimed in, "And my dear sister, you're going to have to explain this to me too." The siblings exchanged mischievous grins before exclaiming in unison,

"Actually, Bhaijaan/Aapi!" They then chorused,

ulluuu banaya bada maja aya :  before bursting into laughter and ran off

Saarah and Zain were left standing there, looking at each other in bewilderment, wondering what had just transpired leaving Saarah and Zain staring at each other, dumbfounded, wondering what on earth had just transpired.

The two of them stood there for a moment, confusion etched on their faces, before Saarah finally broke the silence.

"What just happened?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Zain shook his head, equally perplexed.

"I have no idea, but I think we just got punk'd by our siblings," he replied, a hint of amusement creeping into his voice.

As the night unfolded, Rida took center stage, grabbing the mic with infectious energy. "So guys, it's Khan's Sangeet function - why are you all so bored? Let's just rock this!" she exclaimed, her enthusiasm electrifying the crowd. The room erupted in cheers and applause, and Rida flashed a dazzling smile.

She swiftly disappeared behind the stage, only to re-emerge moments later with her duppata stylishly tucked into her waist. The music dropped, and Rida launched into a high-energy dance routine to the popular song

"Lamborghini." Her movements were fluid, her confidence radiating as she commanded the stage. The audience was captivated, cheering and dancing along to the beat. The night had officially kicked off, and Rida was setting the bar high for an unforgettable Sangeet celebration.

After Rida's electrifying performance, Ahan and Zoya took to the stage, ready to showcase their own dance routine. The music started, and they launched into a perfectly choreographed sequence, their movements in sync and full of energy.

Ladke o re ladke kahan se aaya hai re tu
Pyara hai re shakal se
Akkal ka mara hai re tu
Ladke o re ladke kahan se aaya hai re tu
Pyara hai re shakal se
Akal ka mara hai re tu

Zoya's vibrant and playful dance moves, creating a captivating visual treat. The audience was thoroughly entertained, cheering and clapping along to the music.

Haan jal gayi, haan jal gayi
Meri baaton se tu jal gayi
Haan khal gayi, tujhe khal gayi
Meri beparwahi khhal gayi
Mohatarma tu kis khet ki mooli

As Ahan sang and danced alongside Zoya, their energetic performance spread contagious joy throughout the crowd. The audience couldn't help but smile and cheer, caught up in the infectious enthusiasm of the duo. Their chemistry on stage was electric, and their happiness was palpable, creating a celebratory atmosphere that drew everyone in. The music, dance, and laughter combined to create an unforgettable moment, filling the room with an overwhelming sense of joy and festivity.

Zoya grabbed Saarah's hand, pulling her onto the stage, while Rida did the same with Zain. Initially, Saarah and Zain seemed hesitant, but eventually, they gave in to the infectious energy and started dancing with their siblings. The family erupted into laughter at the sight of the two being coaxed onto the stage.

With Saarah and Zain joining in, the stage was now set for an epic dance battle. The girls' team, consisting of Rida, Zoya, kritika and Saarah, was ready to take on the boys' team, comprising Ahan, Zain, adi and Danish. The crowd cheered as the two teams faced off, their competitive spirits ignited. The music pulsed through the air, and the dance battle began, with both teams showcasing their best moves.

As the performance came to a close, Saarah returned to her seat, beaming with joy. The stage was quickly cleared, and Rida took the mic again. "That was an amazing performance, guys! Now, let's invite our family members to come up and say a few words to Saarah Aapi. Let's start with Mamoo!" she announced, prompting Saarah's dad to make his way to the stage.

With a warm smile, Saarah's dad took the mic, looking affectionately at his daughter. "Saarah, beta, you look stunning tonight, and I'm so proud of the young woman you've become," he said, his voice filled with love and admiration. The audience applauded, and Saarah's face glowed with happiness as she listened to her father's heartfelt words.

As Ahan took the stage, he began singing a heartfelt song,

Behna Ka Mujhe Sath Bada Hi Pyara Hai
Uske Aage Chhota Ye Jag Saara Hai
Uski Sar Sambhal Toh Achhi Lagti Hai
Wo Mujhko Pariyon Si Bachhi Lagti Hai

" His voice was filled with emotion, and his eyes locked onto Saarah's, making the moment even more special. Saarah's eyes welled up with tears as she listened to her brother's words, and the audience became emotional, touched by the sibling love.

Her parents, too, had tears in their eyes, overcome with pride and affection for their children. But just as the mood was getting sentimental, Ahan suddenly switched gears and burst into a comical song,

"Gadi wala aya ghar se kachara nikal..."
gadi wala aya ghar se kachara nikal ...

The sudden change in tone caught everyone off guard, and Saarah's shocked expression was priceless. The audience erupted into laughter, and even Saarah couldn't help but giggle, her tears of sentimentality quickly turning to tears of joy. Ahan's playful antics had brought the mood full circle, and the room was now filled with the sound of laughter and applause.

now kritika took the stage ,

Haan chammak challo chel chabeli
Kehtein hai mujhko raas raseli
Bachke tu rehna dildaar sajnaa
Ho mehnga padega tujhko pyar sajna
Chamak challo chel chabeli haan haan ho ho..

Kri took center stage, and with a burst of energy, she began to dance. Her movements were lively and carefree, and she seemed to be having the time of her life. The audience couldn't help but be drawn in by her infectious enthusiasm, and soon they were clapping and cheering her on.

kri grabbed Saarah's hand and pulled her onto the stage again, this time to join in on the dance. Saarah couldn't resist Kri's enthusiasm and soon found herself dancing alongside her. The two of them moved in perfect sync, their laughter and smiles radiating throughout the room.

Yeh roop rang mera jad hai fitno ki
Arey niyat badal gayi jaane kitno ki
Yeh roop rang mera jad hai fitno ki
Arey niyat badal gayi jaane kitno ki
Hanske jidhar main apni nazar utha doon
Udhar bane afsaane haan milenge tujhko gali gali
Mere naam ke deewane ho aisi-waisi main nahi raja

As Kri and Saarah danced and sang, their eyes locked onto Adi and Zain, who were watching with big smiles. The girls' playful teasing was evident in their voices as they sang, their words directed at the boys. Soon, Adi and Zain couldn't resist joining in, and they stepped forward to sing the next lines, their voices blending with Kri and Saarah's in perfect harmony.

Haan, banke rahunga tera yaar sajna
Ho tujhse kiya hai maine pyar sajna
Baja re baja re baja band baaja
Arey iska baja re dekho band baaja
Chamak challo chel chabeli
Kehtein hai mujhko raas raseeli
Bachke tu rehna dildaar sajna
Ho mehanga padega tujhko pyar sajna

after dance everyone become busy in function as there is no other performance While everyone around him was expressing their love and well-wishes to Saarah through heartfelt performances and words, Zain stood out for his silence. He didn't contribute to the celebratory atmosphere with a performance or heartfelt words of his own. Instead, he remained distinct, his emotions locked away,

Zain's reserved demeanor was a stark contrast to the vibrant celebrations around him. While everyone else was lost in the joy of the occasion, he stood apart, his mind consumed by the weight of his own emotions. The thought of Saarah's impending marriage was a constant torment, a bitter pill he couldn't swallow.

He was trapped in a battle with his inner self, torn between the desire to break free from the past and the fear of rejection. His eyes would occasionally drift towards Saarah, and the pain in his heart would intensify. He longed to tell her how he felt, to plead with her to reconsider her decisions, but the fear of her response kept him silent.

As the festivities continued, Zain's turmoil only deepened. He was a man on the edge, struggling to keep his emotions in check, his heart heavy with unspoken words and unresolved feelings. The music and laughter around him seemed like a distant hum, a reminder of the happiness he couldn't quite reach.

saarah looked at him and approached him

won't you perform or give anything to me : she teased, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and affection, as she knew what was going on inside his heart. Zain's silence and reserved nature only added to the intrigue, and Saarah's gentle teasing was a tender attempt to draw him out. The air was filled with unspoken emotions, and Saarah's words hung between them like a promise of connection.

Zain nodded, and with a quiet intensity, he took the stage.

Mujhe Neend Aati Nahin Hai Akele
Khwabon Mein Aaya Karo
Nahi Chal Sakunga Tumhare Bina Main
Mera Tum Sahara Bano

The music began, and Zain's voice poured out his heart as he sang a soulful song, his eyes locked onto Saarah's. The lyrics spoke of love, longing, and the pain of possibly losing her. The audience was mesmerized by the raw emotion in his voice, and Saarah's eyes welled up with tears as she realized the depth of Zain's feelings for her.

Ek Tumhein Chahne Ke Alava
Aur Kuch Humse Hoga Nahin

Bol Do Na Zara
Dil Mein Jo Hai Chipa
Main Kisi Se Kahunga Nahin
Bol Do Na Zara
Dil Mein Jo Hai Chipa
Main Kisi Se Kahunga Nahin
Main Kisi Se Kahunga Nahin

The song was a poignant declaration of his love, and Saarah's heart skipped a beat as she listened to his heartfelt words. The atmosphere was charged with emotion, and the audience was completely absorbed in the moment, sensing the genuine love and vulnerability that Zain was sharing with Saarah.

Just as Zain was about to continue singing, Saarah abruptly excused herself and slipped away, overwhelmed by the emotions that threatened to consume her.

As Saarah fled the scene, she couldn't shake off the feeling of being overwhelmed by the emotions that Zain's song had stirred within her. She ran out of the house, not stopping until she reached the sanctuary of her secret garden. The tranquil atmosphere enveloped her like a warm hug, providing a much-needed respite from the turmoil that had been brewing inside her.

She settled onto her favorite bench, surrounded by the soft glow of fairy lights and the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers. The bench offered a discreet view of her balcony and window, a spot where she often lost herself in thought. As she sat there, her mind began to wander, torn between the love that her heart was screaming to acknowledge and the doubts that her mind was raising.

The pain in Zain's eyes, the longing in his voice, it all seemed so real. Yet, she couldn't help but wonder if it was just an act, a clever ruse to break her defenses once again. The internal conflict was tearing her apart, and she didn't know which way to turn. As she sat amidst the peace and quiet of her garden, Saarah felt like she was staring into the abyss, unsure of what lay ahead.

she was sitting alone when she felt someone siting beside her she looked and found zain looking at the stars, Zain's calm demeanor was a stark contrast to the turmoil that had been brewing inside him. He sat beside Saarah, his gaze fixed on the starry sky.

"You didn't even hear my performance, although you're the one who asked me to sing," he said, his voice low and husky, still looking up at the stars.

Saarah felt a pang of guilt, her eyes darting away from his intense gaze.

"I... I want to use the restroom urgently," she lied, trying to sound convincing, but her voice barely above a whisper. The silence between them was palpable, filled with unspoken emotions and unresolved tension.

"Is everyone gone?" Saarah asked, comfortable in her seat, gazing at the sky.

"Yeah, Kritika's staying, but she knows you need some time," Zain replied, his voice low.

Saarah hummed in response, then stood up to leave. But before she could take another step, Zain grasped her wrist, his touch sending shivers down her spine.

"Why are you doing this, Saarah?" he asked, his voice laced with emotion.

Saarah stiffened, her back to him. Zain's grip didn't loosen; instead, he pulled her back until her body was flush against his. She closed her eyes, refusing to respond.

The air was thick with tension as they stood there, frozen in time. Then Zain's voice broke the silence again,

"Why are you marrying someone else when you don't even love him?"

Saarah snapped back, turning to face him. "Love isn't important for marriage, Zain."

Zain's eyes blazed with intensity. "Oh, shut up. We both know this isn't some cliché Wattpad story where the hero and heroine fall in love after marriage."

Saarah's eyes flashed with defiance. "What do you want, Zain?

you I want you saarah . I want you back in my life I want you to once again light my darkness : he said

Zain's gaze bore into Saarah's, his eyes filled with a deep longing and regret. His voice cracked as he spoke, the words spilling out like a pent-up confession.

"Saarah, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for everything – for the pain I caused you, for the trust I broke, for the love I let slip away. I know I don't deserve it, but I'm begging you, please forgive me. Don't go through with this marriage. Don't marry him, not when your heart still belongs to me."

His words hung in the air, heavy with emotion. Zain's grip on her wrist loosened, his hand sliding up to cup her face. His touch was gentle, his fingers tracing the contours of her cheekbone.

"I'm not asking you to forgive me because I want to be with you again, although that's all I can think about. I'm asking because I realize now that I was blind, stupid, and selfish. I didn't appreciate what we had, and I lost you because of it. If there's even a small chance that you can forgive me, that we can try again... please, Saarah, don't give up on us."

Zain's voice broke, and he buried his face in the crook of her neck, his body shaking with sobs. The intensity of his emotions was palpable, and Saarah felt her resolve wavering in the face of his heartfelt apology.

''it's over zain there's  nothing between us'' . : she said by pulling away

Saarah ran from the backyard, her feet carrying her straight to the safety of her room. She locked the door behind her and leaned against it, her body trembling as she let out a torrent of tears. She cried her heart out, the sobs wracking her body as she slid down to the floor. Time lost all meaning as she wept, unsure of how long she'd been crying.

The knock on the door broke the spell, and she recognized the gentle tap as Kritika's. "Wait," Saarah called out, her voice hoarse from crying. She quickly got up and made her way to the bathroom, desperate to compose herself before facing her friend.

As she stood under the warm shower, the water washed away her tears, but the ache in her heart remained. She felt drained, her emotions raw and exposed.

After the shower, she changed into comfortable clothes and noticed the rain outside, a soothing melody that seemed to match the rhythm of her heart. The sound of the raindrops hitting the ground was calming, and she felt a sense of peace wash over her.

She lay down on her bed, hoping to escape into sleep, but her mind was restless. Thoughts of Zain and their conversation swirled in her head, refusing to let her find peace.

Two hours passed, and she couldn't shake off the thoughts of Zain, of the pain and the longing. She tossed and turned, her mind racing with what-ifs and maybes.

Finally, she gave up on sleep and stepped out onto the balcony, the cool rain-soaked air enveloping her. The rain had slowed to a gentle patter, casting a misty veil over the world below. The smell of wet earth filled her senses, and she breathed deeply, feeling the calmness spread through her.

She stood there, lost in thought, the rain washing away her tears, but not the sorrow that lingered within. The sound of the rain and the cool breeze were soothing, but her heart remained heavy with emotion.

As she stood on her balcony, lost in thought, she glanced down into the garden, expecting it to be empty. But her eyes landed on a figure kneeling on the grass, gazing up at her window. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized who it was.

The figure was Zain.

He was still there, still waiting, still looking up at her window with an intensity that made her heart ache. Saarah's breath caught in her throat as their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the rain-soaked night air thick with tension and unspoken emotions.
