"You're not going to the club alone again, got it?" he yelled at me.

I matched his tone, my voice rising in defiance. "And who are you to order me around? I'll do whatever I want, go wherever I please. It's none of your business."

In an instant, he grasped my waist, pulling me dangerously close. I was pinned between him and my car, his face inches from mine.

"How dare you raise your voice at me?" he thundered.

I shot back, my anger boiling over. "And how dare you touch me without my permission?"

A sly smile spread across his face. "You love disobeying me, don't you?"

I retorted, my voice laced with sarcasm. "Yeah, I love disobeying everyone, not just you. Don't think so highly of yourself."

He leaned in, his eyes blazing with intensity. "So, you won't listen to me, then?"

I spat back, my voice venomous. "I'll never listen to you. Never, ever."

A smirk twisted his lips. "Okay, then don't blame me for this."

I frowned, confusion etched on my face. "For what?"

He chuckled, a low, husky sound, and swooped me up, tossing me over his shoulder. I pounded his back with my fists, but he was unfazed, his strength overwhelming.

As we approached my penthouse, he rang the doorbell. My bestie's eyes widened in shock as she took in the scene.

"What the...!" she exclaimed.

He set me down, his voice calm and collected. "Your friend here wasn't listening to me, disobeying me, so I had to take matters into my own hands."

I glared at him, my anger still simmering. "Kriti, help me!"

My bestie smirked, a teasing glint in her eye. "Leave me alone right now!" I yelled at him.

He raised an eyebrow. "You sure?"

I nodded vehemently. "Yes, I'm sure. Leave me!"

He dropped me, and I landed with a thud, my back aching in protest.

"What the...!" I yelled, my anger boiling over.

He shot back, his voice laced with amusement. "Why are you yelling now? You told me to leave you, so I did exactly what you said."

I seethed, my face burning with rage. "How dare you touch me first, and now this? Who are you to me?"

A smirk still plastered on his face, he replied, "Your boyfriend."

I watched, my mouth agape, as he walked away, leaving me fuming and frustrated.

"Mom, I don't want to get married, please," I said, looking at her with pleading eyes.

My mom's expression turned curious. "Beta, why? Are you in love with someone?"

I shook my head vigorously. "No!"

She frowned, confusion etched on her face. "Then what's the problem, bete? We're not asking you to marry him right now. We just want you to meet him. If everything goes well, then we can consider engagement. Please think about it, bete. We want to see you happy and settled, and we also want to become grandparents."

I blurted out something that would change the course of the conversation. "Mom, I can give you grandchildren without getting married too."

The room fell silent, with my mom, dad, and brother choking on their food and coughing violently. I realized my mistake and tried to rectify it.

"I-I mean... adoption! I can adopt a child for you," I stuttered.

My brother burst out laughing. "You're really dumb, didi."

I shot back, "Shut up, you pig-headed brother."

My mom slammed her hand on the table, her voice firm. "Enough! You will meet him, or you'll face the consequences. Bete, you're getting old, and it's time you settled down. This is a matter of family honor!"

I yelled, shocked, "What?"

The room erupted in laughter, and I realized I was in trouble. My fate was sealed.
